Char-Em United Way Instant Wine Cellar 2016

Hello, friends and welcome back! It’s that time of year again, early spring here in Northern Michigan. The weather is hit or miss these days. Some days it’s up in the 50’s and it’s got me thinking of summer on the horizon. The next day it will be in the low 30’s with snow flurries and waves crashing up against the breakwall. Pure Michigan. We never quite know what Mother Nature will have in store for us. With the weather being hit or miss this is the time of year I’ll be honest, I start to get a little stir crazy and need to get out of the house. Enter Char-Em United Way’s Instant Wine Cellar taking place Friday, April 22nd, 7-10pm.

This popular community event takes place once a year here in Petoskey and is one of the major highlights of spring here in our area. Not only does it help out a great cause here in the Northern Michigan, it also allows community members to get out of the house for an evening to mingle and chat with friends.

What is the Char-Em Instant Wine Cellar?

The Instant Wine Cellar is a yearly fundraiser held by our local Char-Em United Way at Stafford’s Perry Hotel here in Petoskey. It is $15 entrance fee OR you can bring a bottle of wine or craft beer ($15 value) and use that as your entry fee. New this year is pre-registration. If you don’t want to wait in line the night of the event, you can stop by local participating businesses with your craft beer or bottle(s) of wine so that you are ‘fast tracked’ at the event and can skip the line. All proceeds from the evenings event go to the Char-Em United Way and stay local within the community.

One of the best parts of the evening? Attendees can purchase raffle tickets at the event and guests have the chance to win their very own instant wine cellar! Lucky winners get to take home wine and craft beer making their own ‘instant wine cellar.’
