Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts, founded in 1946, has been serving the Petoskey community and its visitors for almost 70 years, and through three generations of the Shorter family. We are proud to continue the tradition of carrying Minnetonka Moccasins and Petoskey Stones like we’ve done since 1946.

That is certainly not all that our store has to offer, however. Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts is filled with unique items that you certainly do not see everyday, such as Lynn Haney Santas and Brian Kidwell Flying Machines that are shipped all the way from Texas every year.

For the kids, Grandpa Shorter’s carries a wide variety of toys from Toysmith, Alexx, and Schylling Classic Toys, and many many others. We also carry books published by Workman Publishing and Hartcourt and Sleeping Bear Press.

The fun doesn’t stop there. You can find find just about anything you need to accessorize your home and/or cottage. We feature a large assortment of local lake and nautical products for those who have a a special liking towards one lake as opposed to another. Walloon Lake, Crooked Lake, Pickerel Lake, Mullett Lake, Burt Lake, Lake Charlevoix, Lake Michigan, Douglas Lake, or Torch Lake- we have them all. You’ll have t0 check out our relief maps, clocks, coasters, and other items that feature each lake as well.

We not only carry clothing, home goods, and toys, we also carry a variety of food products that are all made in Michigan like Brownwood Farms product.
