Do you have a big backyard? Host an outdoor BBQ. Make sure you have a big enough backyard for your guest to be able to socialize while practicing safe distancing at 6ft apart.
BYOC: Bring your own chairs! Everyone has foldable chairs for sporting events and camping, have everyone bring their own, so you don’t have to worry about seating.
Masks/State Guidelines: Masks/State Guidelines: Have masks out for your guests to wear if they forget their own. Making a safe environment for your guest is key and will make them feel better, knowing you are doing everything you can to keep them safe.
Follow your states guidelines too. Keep your numbers low. If you’re not supposed to have get-togethers of more than 25 people, listen. If you’re still supposed to be quarantined, stay home.
Disposables: Use disposable plates, utensils, cups, and have a large garbage can outside in sight, so no one needs to search for it. It also might be a good idea to have your guest bring their own drinks; that way, there’s no mixing up of cups. Everyone knows what is theirs.
Hand Washing: Set up an outdoor hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels. More people are likely to wash their hands if they see something available. Also, make sure to have hand sanitizer available.
Single Servings: Use single-serving bags of chips, have side dishes like salads and fruit served in small cups instead of large bowls with serving spoons. This way, you will avoid having multiple people touching the same serving utensils sitting in the food.
For dessert, try making some fun cupcakes. They are a grab and go dessert that everyone will enjoy. Bring out a box of popsicles for the kids to keep them cool.
Games: You can still play outdoor games like corn hole, bocce ball, KanJam, and ring toss. Just sanitize the games in-between use with a disinfectant.
