Petoskey Ghost Tours and Haunted Progressive Dinner

September 30, 2017

Fall is finally in the air after the last few weeks of 90 degree weather. We enjoyed every extra minute of it but I’m happy to say the temps are back in the mid-60’s where they should be! The month of October is only days away and the kids are getting excited for Halloween. The kids have already been discussing Halloween costumes and they each have one picked out. My son always chooses something police officer of firefighter related but this year he opted to be a Navy Seal. My youngest is going as a giant slice of pizza that I made out of felt last year for my blog. My middle kiddo who loves marching to the beat of her own drum wants to go as a Beatle, we’re thinking either John or Ringo but she’s still thinking on it.

I love dressing up at Halloween too, but what I really love is the spooky Halloween atmosphere. I love the cold, crisp night air. I love how the fog hangs over Little Traverse Bay and I love hearing spooky ghost stories about Petoskey. This year we even have a Friday the 13th in October!

If you enjoy a good ghost story during the Halloween season, you will want to participate in Petoskey Yesterday’s tours courtesy of Chris from Arlington Jewelers on East Lake Street across from Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts. There is a scheduled Ghost Walk set for Friday October 13th, however it is currently sold out. Yes, it is that popular. Don’t fret though, Chris also does group tours that can be scheduled a head of time and he can be contacted on the Petoskey Yesterday website. I have done the Petoskey Ghost tour with Chris twice now and I highly recommend it. Not only is it spooky but you also learn about the history of Petoskey as well.

If you love spooky stories AND delicious food, the Petoskey Downtown Haunted Halloween Prorgessive Dinner is sure to be a hit! Enjoy appetizers and dinner at the historic Perry Hotel in Downtown Petoskey and then dessert & coffee afterwards at City Park Grill. Both locations are steeped in history and both have some creepy stories. As a bonus, ask for a tour of the City Park Grill’s Michigan basement. It’s enough to send chills down your spine!

Have you taken the Petoskey Ghost Tour? What did you think of it?
