Recipe: Easy Citrus Cooler

July 6, 2015

Looking for an easy and refreshing summer beverage to try this week? Look no further! I’m always looking for new and fun recipes to try out and during the summer I tend to gravitate toward lemonade or citrus-y beverages. Maybe it’s the heat but I always think citrus drinks are really refreshing and perfect for company or taking out on the boat.

This Citrus Cooler is easy, light and refreshing. It’s non-alcoholic and kid friendly but if you wanted to add a splash of vodka that would be perfect too!

Citrus Cooler Recipe Grandpa Shorter's Summer Drink Beverage

Citrus Cooler Ingredients –

12 oz can of Sprite or 7 Up
1 lime, juiced
1 lemon, juiced
2 tbs. honey

Directions –

#1. Roll the lime and lemon across the counter top using your hand. This will help the juice to release from the fruit.
#2. Slice the lime and lemon in half and juice by squeezing or using a juicer.
#3. Combine the 2 tbs. of honey and the lime/lemon juice. Whisk together.
#4. Add in 12 oz of a lemon/lime soda such as Sprite or 7 Up and combine.
#5. Serve with a slice of lemon or lime or add a splash of vodka for an adult twist.

*Making the recipe for a larger crowd? Simply double or triple the ingredients and enjoy.
