2015 Petoskey Mardi Patty Gras Crawl

March 3, 2015

Hello friends! Spring is so close, I can almost taste it! We keep having these extremely frigid days but then every once in a while we will have a day (like yesterday) that will be in the mid-20’s and it’s almost spring like! Only someone from Michigan be crazy like that and think spring weather is mid-20’s, right?? It’s going to be here any day now, I can feel it AND they days are getting longer! Another awesome sign that winter will be winding down soon.

Winter’s here in Petoskey can get a little old, especially with it being so cold and I’m not a huge outdoors fan. I prefer watching from inside and I love our little town, I really do but right about now I need something, anything fun and entertaining to get me through to spring!

Enter this years newest downtown Petoskey event: the Mardi Patty Gras Crawl through downtown Petoskey this Friday evening March 6th from 5:30-8pm. What is the Mardi Patty Crawl exactly?

It’s an hors d’oeuvre and appetizer crawl through 21 participating downtown stores, followed by an entrée and dessert in participating downtown restaurants. There are two choices for the restaurant crawl; you can either purchase the Mardi Package which is an entrée at Palette Bistro and dessert at Whitecaps or you can go with the Patty Package, which is a entrée at Tap 30 and dessert at the Perry, (Information courtesy of Petoskey Downtown).

I don’t know about you, but I am VERY excited about this event! It’s the perfect time of year to get out of the house and be out and out about downtown! My husband is working Friday evening so one of my girlfriend’s is going to be my date and I cannot wait! I even have a sitter lined up to stay with the kids for an hour until my husband gets home from work. See ya later kids, mom’s getting out of the house for an evening!

If you don’t have anything planned this weekend or if you’re headed north, consider trying out this new and fun event. I’ll be back next week with a recap of the event and how it went. I’m not sure yet which dinner entree and dessert I am doing but I’m excited to try something new. I still haven’t eaten at Tap 30 and keep hearing about it from friends!

For more information on the event and to purchase tickets, please visit the Petoskey Downtown website or call 231-348-0388.
