Grandpa Shorter's Classic Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Hello and welcome back, friends! Thanksgiving is only a few days away (already!!) and the temperatures here in Northern Michigan are finally plummeting.  It’s that time of year where I’m starting to wear multiple layers and starting to crave yummy, homemade comfort foods, like homemade chocolate chips cookies! Most kiddos will have a few days off for Thanksgiving break and the recipe I’m sharing today would be great to try out in the kitchen with them! My girls absolutely LOVE to help out in the kitchen. Now, I’ve said before that I’m a tad OCD with my kitchen space when I’m cooking but I really do try to include them as much as I can with the recipes. If I’m feeling adventurous, I let them try making their own sweet treats in mugs and heating them in the microwave.

So, back to it being cold and craving homemade comfort foods, what is more comforting than a homemade chocolate chip cookie with a large glass of ice cold milk? Yeah, I can’t think of much else either! Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, these go great with morning coffee too!

Chocolate chip cookies are a staple in our household and it tends to be one of my go-to recipes when I’m craving something sweet and chocolately. My husband loves them, his co-workers love them and so do the kids, oh yeah, and teachers too! So, yeah let’s get on with the recipe.
