Mclean & Eakin Booksellers: Upcoming Events, Michigan Books & More

October 15, 2018

If you’ve ever strolled Lake Street in Downtown Petoskey you’ve more than likely strolled by Mclean and Eakin bookstore. Nestled directly in between Roast & Toast Cafe and The Katydid, Mclean & Eakin is Petoskey’s one and only bookstore. I love stopping in to browse the wide variety of books and my kids love heading there after school to browse the kids section and enjoy the occasional free donut up at the counter. It’s the perfect stop on a blustery fall or winter day when you want to escape the cold. Grab a hot drink at Roast & Toast next door and then choose a comfy chair or bench in store while you browse staff picks and recommendations.

Mclean & Eakin Booksellers

Mclean & Eakin offers a huge selection of books in all categories: fiction, non-fiction, kids, Michigan you name it they have it. And, if they don’t have it they can order it and get it within days. My son always wants something that just isn’t in stock and we use the ordering feature at least 1-2 times a month. As an added bonus, for every $100 you spend with their rewards program (ask about it at checkout), you get a $10 coupon to redeem on your next in-store purchase! I also love that you can have a percentage of your purchase donated to a local school of your choice when you mention it at checkout.

Looking for some new reads? Mclean & Eakin also hosts a multitude of FREE author events for all ages. Hockey fans loved meeting Keith Gave, author of The Russian Five back in May and my children had a blast meeting kids author, Nathan Hale and learning how he creates his unique history based graphic novels for young readers. If you love reading and learning about new authors make sure to keep an eye on the Mclean & Eakin website and Facebook page.
