North Central Michigan College Lecture Series 2015
Hello friends! Are you looking for something interesting to do during your work lunch hour? Or, maybe you just enjoy learning about new and different topics. Today on the blog we are featuring the North Central Michigan College lecture series. Maybe you have heard of it or maybe it’s something new to you. Almost every month, North Central Michigan College features a lecture on a unique topics in varying interests throughout the year and some take place during Friday lunch hours.
North Central’s Luncheon Lectures Series takes place Friday afternoons at 12pm and are $10 to attend. Tickets for the lecture are required and can be reserved by calling 231-348-6600. Lunch is served at 11:30am prior to the lecture and is included in the $10 ticket fee.
Current Upcoming Luncheon Lecture Series –
- April 10th – Natural Born Killers: Have We Lost Control? Randy Claramunt from Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources will discuss naturalized Pacific Salmon living in our Great Lakes and the challenges they bring. Claramunt studies trout, whitefish and Pacific Salmon’s interaction with one another.
- May 1st – What’s New at School will feature Petoskey Public School’s superintendent John Scholten. He will be providing an overview of where public education currently stands here in Michigan and the challenges public education faces with statewide funding, budget cuts and enrollment at Petoskey Public Schools.
North Central Michigan College also features lecture series in the evenings which are often announced a few months prior to the event. These lectures are typically free but tickets are required as they are usually extremely popular and sell out fast.

- Wednesday April 29th – Calling all super hero and Marvel Comic’s fans! If you’re a Marvel fan or know someone that is you won’t want to miss this event! Bill Roseman of Marvel Comic’s speaks about his 20 plus year’s in the comic book business creating super hero stories and characters for Marvel under legend comic book writer, Stan Lee. Roseman will discuss his jack of all trades career as a journalist, copywriter, script writer and editor, as well as blogger and marketing director at Marvel Comic’s.
