Downtown Petoskey Events: Petoskey Rocks
Summers in Northern Michigan are one of my absolute favorite times of the year. To be honest, it’s what make our 6 months (or more) of winter bearable. Don’t get me wrong, winters up north are fun and there is a ton of stuff to do but for someone like me that is always cold, no matter how many layers I have on, summer is a summer break.
Summer time in Petoskey is the best. Surrounded by water many people can be found swimming in Lake Michigan or one of the beautiful inland lakes. Friday mornings, I can be found wandering the downtown farmer’s market on Howard Street. Evenings bring warm summer nights and campfires with friends.

If you’re looking for some fun on Friday evenings this summer, Petoskey Rocks is the place to be. Every Friday July 1-August 12th Downtown Petoskey comes alive with food, fun and entertainment for the whole family. Each Friday night will feature live music in Pennsylvania Park starting at 7pm, activities for the kids and select downtown business’s will be offering snacks and refreshments. Stay until after dark and watch the free movie in the park with the kids. It’s the perfect time to get out of the house and enjoy downtown Petoskey.
