Petoskey’s Winter Carnival February 11th-14th
I’m watching the snow fall quietly outside my kitchen window as I type up this blog post. Beautiful giant flakes, the soft fluffy kind and the girls are outside playing giving me a few minutes of solice! I’m pretty sure winter is finally here to stay for a while (but hopefully not too long…). We are making the most of it here in Northern Michigan so far with sledding, ice skating, hockey, building snowmen, etc. We do love our winters here in Petoskey! The kids have been happily occupied on the weekends giving me a few minutes of sanity while they tire themselves out outside. School was cancelled yesterday and the kids were estatic. I wasn’t terribly thrilled but being that I drive them 10 miles to and from school I was pretty OK with the decision to call school off as the roads were a sheet of ice. It was the perfect day to play some games and make some goodies with them.
February is on the horizon already and only only a few short weeks away. Petoskey is gearing up for our annual Winter Carnival that will take place Thursday February 11th – Sunday February 14th. There will be tons of fun events and activities for everyone, including kids, to do. Why not make a weekend of it and head north? I know Petoskey schools has there winter break that weekend so we will be enjoying it to the fullest. Drive north and spend a few days in town while also enjoying the local ski resorts as well.
