Grandpa Shorter's Recipe Chicken Brownwood Farms Famous Cream Mustard

Hello again, friends! I’m back on the blog today bringing you yet another recipe. This past weekend I was able to use the Brownwood Farms Famous Kream Mustard I picked up at Grandpa Shorter’s a few weeks ago. I love mustard and this mustard is divine. It’s sweet and a little spicy and creamy on top of that. The flavor profile is really great, and it’s also extremely versatile. You can use it as a spread on sandwiches, as a dip with pita chips or pretzels or try it out as a sauce in a lunch or dinner recipe. You really can’t go wrong.

I tried something a little different this past weekend. It was nearing lunch time, I was hungry and the kids were bugging for food. I happened to have a large uncooked chicken breast left over in the fridge that needed to be used, so I turned the oven on and grabbed my jar of Famous Cream Mustard and got to work. The results were fabulous. To be honest, you never really know if a recipe will turn out. I tried a recipe last week for the blog and it was a flop (it was never posted, so no worries on trying it out), but this recipe was a total hit! I loved it, the kids ate it (hey, they’re kids) and the husband thought it was pretty good too. He’s pretty picky so I was really happy with the results!

Mustard Baked Chicken

Mustard Baked Chicken Ingredients –

  • 2 medium size boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 jars Brownwood Farms Famous Cream Mustard
  • 2 sleeves of Ritz buttery round crackers, crushed (you could also use breadcrumbs. I’m partial to using buttery round crackers as breadcrumbs)
    salt & pepper to taste

Directions –

#1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
#2. Spray a medium size baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
#3. Cut the chicken breasts into smaller chunks.
#4. Open the Brownwood Farms Famous Cream Mustard and pour into a medium size dish that is shallow enough to dip the chicken.
#5. Pour the crushed buttery crackers into another shallow dish and add some salt & pepper.
#6. Dip the pieces of chicken into the Famous Cream Mustard and use a spoon to coat it completely.
#7. Next, dip the chicken in the breadcrumbs. Again, use a spoon to cover with breadcrumbs, which will stick to the mustard sauce and place in the baking dish.
#8. Repeat with all the pieces of chicken.
#9. Bake 40-45 minutes or until cooked through.
#10. Serve with a veggie or side dish of your choice.

The chicken was moist, tender, and the flavor was just fantastic. Best of all, the recipe is only 2-3 ingredients!!! My kind of recipe! Looking for more recipes to try using Brownwood Farms products? Head over here to our recipe section on the blog.
