Hello friends and happy Monday! Today on the blog I am bringing you some information on the Ridge Run Dog Park in Boyne City! Being a dog lover, I was excited to write this post and give our readers a little bit of information on the new park and it’s amenities!
Meet Charlie, our oldest. She will be 9 this summer and loves nothing more than playing fetch with her Chuck It, hunting sloppy joes and cheeseburgers. Being a german shorthair, she’s still got a ton of energy for being 8 and she loves to run so Ridge Run Dog Park in Boyne City is perfect for her when we aren’t hanging out at home. Luckily for us, Charlie is very well behaved and and doesn’t take off on us at home and we have a huge yard for her to play in. That being said though, we don’t have any neighbors or other dogs so she still loves to socialize when we get out.
Ridge Run Dog Park in Boyne City is the perfect place to take your pooch for some socializing and exercise. Heck, it’s even good for us human’s to get out of the house and chat with other dog owners!
Located on the north end of Boyne City on Ridge Street, the park is open to the public and offers roughly 2 acres of fenced in area for dogs to play. They have everything you need to play with your fury friend: frisbies, balls, Chuck Its and even an agility course. Ridge Run also recently applied for a grant through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to build two new fitness and walking tracks around the perimeter of the park. If received, the grant would also include funds for new benches and shade trees throughout the park.
If you live here in Northern Michigan or you’re up visiting during the summer make sure you stop by the park with your fury friend and check it out for yourself. We would love to here your thoughts and comments on it!
Interested in getting your dog out and about but simply don’t have the time some days? Doggy daycare might be a good option for you! What is doggy daycare? It’s just like daycare for kiddos but dogs only. Drop your fury friend off before work and then pick up after. Even if you have just a few errands to run and don’t want to leave your pet home alone, daycare might be a great option! The hours are flexible and it gets your dog out of the house and playing with other pets.
A few local doggy daycare options in our area include –
- Bay Area Pet Resort – Location: Petoskey. This is where I used to send Charlie when she was younger and I worked full time prior to staying home with my kiddos. She was our first ‘child’ and I hated leaving her home alone all day by herself. I’d drop her off before going to work and pick her up when I was done for the day. It was a great option for us. Bay Area Pet Resort also offers overnight boarding. For more information on boarding and daycare hours call (231) 348-5550.
- Happy Tails Kennels – Location: Petoskey. Happy Tails offers both daycare services as well and boarding and is conveniently located a few miles from downtown Petoskey. Call (231) 347-3038 for more information.
- Dog’s World North – Location: Boyne City. Dog’s World North offers daycare, grooming and boarding, as well as obedience classes for your fury friend. Their unique All Day Play Program places dogs into groups that best suit their needs. Go here for more information.
Have you sent your fury friend to daycare? If so, we would love to hear about you experience!
