Stick a Fork in It – How to Set the Table
My mother-in-law, Mari Shorter, is out visiting us this week so we teamed up today to share some table setting ideas. I have found that many people are not learning how to set a table properly before entering the adult world. It is a good skill to have when entertaining or helping a friend or family member set up for a party or even just dinner.
Here are five demos that range from formal to casual on how to set a table and where everything belongs. As my husband, Ryan, always says, “Eat to the left, drink to the right.” You can find these fantastic paper placemats for any occasion online at Grandpa Shorter’s or in our store.
Number five, works well to teach children how to set the table.
Mari shared two more ideas on how to use the paper placemats, too. You can line them up vertically to create different drink or food stations to serve your guests. In this case Mari made every other one rotated to created interest.
Another visually pleasing way to use the paper placemats is on a tray and of course it is an easy way to switch up the look of your parties.
I would love to see your table settings – please share.
