Three Easy Breakfasts Kids can Make for Mother’s Day

May 7, 2015

This Mother’s Day, make Mom’s day by surprising her with a homemade breakfast. Here are three easy ideas that the kids can whip up with just a little help from Dad. None of the recipes require the use of the stove or oven, and Mom is sure to ooh and ahh over them.

1. Mini Breakfast Pizzas – For this, you’ll need a box of frozen waffles, flavored cream cheese spread, and Mom’s favorite fresh fruit. I used strawberries and blueberries, but any fruit will work. First, toast the waffles. Then spread with cream cheese. I used pineapple flavored cream cheese. Next, arrange the fruit on the cream cheese, and serve. You have a beautiful breakfast in minutes that mom will love.

2. Crunchy Berry Parfait – For this one, you need strawberries, blueberries, any flavor yogurt your mom likes, granola of your liking, and a pretty cup to put the parfait in. In the cup, layer your yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, and then top with granola. Garnish with a whole strawberry on the side. It’s pretty, healthy, and another great breakfast option for mom.

3. Strawberry Banana Smoothie – This one needs a little prep the night before. Slice ½ a cup of strawberries and a whole banana, place in a freezer bag and freeze overnight. In the morning, place 1 cup of your favorite yogurt and ½ cup of milk in a blender. Add the frozen fruit and blend until smooth. You can serve this one in a pretty cup with a strawberry garnish on the side, and mom will be impressed.
