The on-site spa at Boyne Mountain, one of Michigan’s premier ski resorts, is an oasis in a winter wonderland. Cedar saunas, steam rooms and whirlpools provide the perfect way to warm up and relax. Pamper yourself with a massage or reflexology treatment. You can even enjoy a Petoskey Hot Stone Massage. Lounge in a soft robe by the fireplace with a warm cup of cocoa while enjoying a view of the slopes. Later you can hit the slopes yourself or enjoy a snowshoe hike through the woods.

2. The Spa at Grand Traverse Resort

Grand Traverse resort sits along Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, the Cherry Capital of the World. The beach may be icy, but the spa is warm and welcoming on a cold winter’s day. They focus on destressing and detoxifying the body with a variety of natural treatments. You can have a cherry infused massage or a grape wine facial peel. The Cherry Honey Glow Body Treatment exfoliates and hydrates the skin. It’s the perfect antidote to the effects of winter’s dry air.

3. The Spa at Inn at Bay Harbor

Travel up the shoreline from Traverse City, and you’ll find The Inn at Bay Harbor on Little Traverse Bay, near Petoskey. The inn’s Victorian architecture takes you back in time to Northern Michigan’s gracious turn-of-the-century resorts. Indulge in their Salted Caramel Chocolate Escape. Start with a hot butter brulee whole milk soak. Then whipped honey sea salt exfoliates your skin, preparing it for the dark chocolate mask. Finally, relax with a caramel moisturizing massage. As evening nears, enjoy one of Northern Michigan’s most spectacular views of the sunset over Lake Michigan from the inn.

4. The Spa at Boyne Highlands Resort

This spa is also located at one Northern Michigan’s popular ski resorts. If you spend the day on the slopes at Boyne Highlands, the spa’s Sport’s Massage may be the perfect way for you to rejuvenate. It combines a combination of traditional Swedish massage with stretches to enhance range of motion. Skiers will also enjoy the Ski Boot Rescue,  a volcanic clay mask, scrub, and foot massage designed to perk up cold, tired feet.

5. Crystal Spa

The spa at Crystal Mountain Resort draws its inspiration from the natural beauty of Northern Michigan. The elegant and welcoming spa has heated floors, steam rooms and infrared saunas to help you relax in warm comfort. Their seasonal winter services include a Peppermint Bark Bliss Body Treatment, Fire and Ice Facial and a Chocolate and Coconut Cream Pedicure. The resort also boasts ski slopes, cross-country trails, ice skating and a variety of other outdoor winter recreation activities.
