Shed Whitetail Antler Items for The Home and Kitchen

Northern Michigan is widely known for its famous whitetails and hunting season come mid-November of every year. What is the first thing you think of when you hear whitetails? I often think immediately of my husband leaving for hunting camp for several weeks and often bringing home enough venison to carry us through the winter months.

My husband, like most men is always on the look out for that elusive buck. You know, the one with the huge rack of antlers between 8 and 10 points, if not more!

Here in Northern Michigan, antlers aren’t only found on whitetails. Did you know that whitetail antlers are an extremely popular home item sold at local shops including Grandpa Shorter’s? During summer breaks, I worked at their largest store in Mackinaw City where we sold actual furniture, tables, queen-size beds and chandeliers made entirely of antlers. They were gorgeous and pricey!
